What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology (pronounced Kin-easy-ology) is an excellent way to discover exactly what your body needs. It is a complementary therapy and uses muscle testing to get feedback from your body. As you are the authority your body will identify exactly what it needs to be well.

Stress is common in society today. The symptoms of stress may include poor sleep, panic attacks and being unable to concentrate. Stress has many causes including lack of support at work or having too much to do with too little time. For some people depression is also an issue this can be debilitating and hard to deal with. Kinesiology rebalances the energy system making you feel good. Kinesiology can also help with many other conditions for example asthma, physical pain, lack of confidence and skin problems, the list is endless.

Kinesiology does not treat named diseases or diagnose them. Kinesiology works with imbalances in the body’s energy. When there is physical injury, emotional trauma or stress, the body can be affected and it can show e.g. with headaches or skin problems. Muscle testing is an excellent tool to identify the issue.

Ailsa recently conducted a Study into the Benefits of Kinesiology for dogs. 88% of the dogs participating in the study experienced a significant or marked change in their behaviour or condition.

I have found Kinesiology beneficial in helping me to realise how situations are affecting my health both physically and emotionally. It has led to me paying more attention to my feelings and taught me to recognise that ignoring them has a negative impact on my health. Kinesiology has also helped to provide solutions to dealing with things and reducing the stress on my body therefore making me feel more relaxed and refreshed.'
Zara Bowie, Occupational Therapist

‘If you're feeling out of sorts, I would highly recommend making an appointment with Ailsa, who will help you regain a sense of balance. Having tried a variety of unsuccessful therapies for IBS, I was delighted with the insight and results that Ailsa has helped me to achieve. Whilst I don't understand the process, the results speak for themselves. Prepare to be amazed.’

‘I have suffered from panic attacks and anxiety for well over 12 years. I started seeing Ailsa after noticing an advert in a local shop. My anxiety has disappeared altogether, and I have had only one 1 panic attack all summer. Ailsa has helped me to regain my life, and I am truly grateful to her. I would recommend Ailsa to anyone. Why not give her a call; you never know she may help you too!!’

Working with animals
‘Ailsa has been working on three of my dogs and I have noticed an improvement in the behaviours of the dogs inside and outside the house. The "pack" has a better order now and outside the home the two of the dogs are less aggressive towards other approaching dogs. One of the dogs has suffered for some time from acid stomach and was faddy about taking food but she has had no incidents since her treatment and eats every meal with no fuss. Thank you Ailsa for making a calmer more managable pack.’

I was at my wits end before I started working with Ailsa, I would never have given up on Glen but would have been severely restricted with what I could do and where I could take him. Kinesiology has given me the dog that I wanted. I can now trust him walking off lead with other dogs – incredible.’
Betty, East Calder

‘Lachlan has over the last few months become a more relaxed dog and able to cope with the situation much better than before – he is less noisy in the house no more barking at the smallest noise etc – thanks Ailsa.’
Mandy Clarkson, Riverside Veterinary Practice, Livingston

’I have to admit to being initially somewhat sceptical with regards to the treatment Kavik was going to receive. I believe the results speak for themselves and the noted significant decrease in the number of seizures Kavik has recently suffered has been nothing less than amazing. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Ailsa's treatment to others.’’
Ewan Robertson, Livingston
